Why Becoming a Digital Nomad did not give me the Freedom I wanted

Wise Words from Liz Huber
1

Some words from Kris related to this subject: I didn't long to be an entrepreneur, but I did yearn for freedom from the rigid 9-to-5 schedule. As an independent, creative person who questions everything and constantly asks why, I wasn't a good fit for corporate life. Being a non-ass kisser continually got me into trouble.

Being a digital nomad sounds exotic and fun, and I'm entertaining the idea due to our current political climate in the US. Whether a digital nomad or freelancer stuck in one place, leaving the 9-to-5 grind brings a whole new set of challenges with it.

It's easy to work 7 days a week if you're not careful. Setting a schedule and sticking to it solved the problem. Saturday is my day off, and I adhere to that rigidly.

Having a side hustle, such as freelancing or becoming an entrepreneur, is a fantastic way for women to achieve financial independence and do a job they love. However, making money through freelancing or running a business can be a challenging endeavor. I know the drill.

Being active on social media with my content means I've attracted numerous romance scammers. It's hard to tell whether they're lonely men or scammers, so I'm nice at first. I recently told one that I didn't believe in marriage and would never get married because I didn't want legal entanglements.

He thought marriage and having a partner were the same! Having a partner means I can leave any time I want. You can't do that in a marriage without involving lawyers, throwing a lot of money away, and losing some of your stuff.

If you were financially dependent on your partner, walking away would be harder. I'm careful to maintain my financial independence. This Forbes article highlights the benefits of financial freedom for women.

You make better decisions around you and your family's life. Managing money builds confidence, and you need confidence to succeed. You can take more risks to improve your life, as you can hire assistance if things go wrong in business or life.

I don't want to leave you hanging without resources. Want to freelance? Here's some fantastic advice on how to succeed. Are you looking to acquire a business or start one? Learn from a trail-blazing woman.

If your partner is a lavish spender, consider keeping separate bank accounts to protect your finances. Want to learn about investing from women who are experts? I recommend Her Money, and I'm a member as well.
